LAWBH is a collaborative composed of five
organizations providing services to Boyle Heights,
Chinatown, and South Los Angeles. It is an
alliance of low-income communities that partners
with employers to connect local residents with
quality jobs to build healthy communities. LAWBH
is part of the CWBH initiative (California Works
for Better Health) a project of the California
Endowment, jointly funded by the Rockefeller
Foundation.
Our Goal:
To
improve the health and well being of residents
living in pockets of poverty in California by
increasing their access to more and better jobs.
Our Purpose:
Quality employment for the Boyle Heights community
in five targeted industries:
Construction
Entertainment
International Trade
Healthcare
Banking
Provide resources for job training
To increase Boyle Heights residents' access
to more and better jobs
To incease participation of the Boyle
Heights community in the economic policy
formation for Los Angeles and
California.
Who Can
Participate?
The CWBH initiative
is part of a greater study, thus participation in
the program is limited to the communities of Boyle
Heights, Chinatown and South Los Angeles. For more
